Jeremias 38:1-6
1
Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,
2
Thus says the LORD, He that remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prize, and shall live.
3
Thus says the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which shall take it.
4
Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech you, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the harm.
5
Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not able to do anything against you.
6
Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with ropes. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sank in the mire.
Ester 7:4-6
4
For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king's loss.
5
Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that dares presume in his heart to do so?
6
And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.
Jó 31:34
Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?
Provérbios 24:11
Deliver those that are drawn toward death, hold back those that are stumbling to the slaughter;
Provérbios 24:12
If you say, Behold, we knew it not; does not he that weighs the heart consider it? and he that keeps your soul, does not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Provérbios 31:8
Open your mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all who are left desolate.

Then Zedekiah the king commanded that they should commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was gone. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.
