And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with you? And he said, The children which God has graciously given your servant.

And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give you offspring of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.

And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

Yea, better is he than both, who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

Or as a hidden untimely birth, I had not been; as infants who never saw light.

As a snail who melts, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.
